Grande Pré, Nova Scotia

This beautiful chapel was constructed on the site of a great upheaval in the early history of North America - The Expulsion of The Acadians, 1755-1764. This is best known to the public through Longfellow's epic poem "Evangeline,"the story of a people caught up in war. While the poem is fictional, the statue is to the heroine.
